commits are lo longer on jira ticket after I delete branch

Given: jira ticket with a branch and two commits showing on the lower right.

Pull request, check the box that says "remove branch", merge the PR.

Refresh jira ticket tab, the commits dissappear.

Is this by design, or is there a configuration that keeps that info in the ticket?

This was an oops, the user must not have refreshed the page, not reproducible.
