Can I run git diff in SourceTree?

larryq November 13, 2014

I love SourceTree, it's a great tool.  I did have a question regarding the git diff command however?  Is it possible to compare two branches from within SourceTree?

I see that if I right click on a branch a 'diff against current' context option appears.  However, when I select it I'm not sure if anything happens?  I don't see anything at least-- am I supposed to look in a particular section of the screen to see it?

Hi Larry,

After you've selected "Diff against current" the following area will show the files that are different (and you can click on each file to see the line diffs):
