'Facilitate PI Planning with Advanced Roadmaps in Jira Cloud' was first announced in March. Since then, we have improved the core solution offering and added more “jobs to be done” by the program team. This body of work is now a complete solution guide in Success Central called 'Quarterly Planning Guidance with Jira Cloud'.
What's new?
- Improved navigation. The guide is now accessible from the Success Central landing page under 'Featured content' and Solution Paths
- Centralized guidance for Jira Admin configurations. The new page 'How to configure Jira and PI plan in Advanced Roadmaps' provides one easy place for the Jira Admin to implement all the configurations needed to enable the solution guide recommended practices.
- This page is super important, we introduce new fields that scale ways of working in Jira. Such as PIs and contributing teams. We provided guidance on issue field config and project standardization.
- Centralized guidance for PI Plan Admin. We introduced a new role called 'PI Plan Admin' which is responsible for configuring the reusable PI Plan in Jira Cloud. Ideally, the RTE or program manager will be the PI Plan admin and they will govern standardized views and guide end-users on how to use the new fields. This guidance is also included in the new page 'How to configure Jira and PI plan in Advanced Roadmaps'
- Then the PI Plan Admin follows the rest of these steps where they configure the plan settings and save standardized views.
- Enhanced guidance for Product team members to execute all the jobs to be done to prepare the feature roadmap for the upcoming PI. Which is the next step 'How to schedule work in the shared pi plan with AR'
- How to use the program board to meet the definition of ready
- How to use the preconfigured PI Plan views to further refine and prioritize features
- Improved the flow and content of pages that support conducting a PI Planning event. We improved the following how-to pages with more clarity and agreement with the new guidance in the PI Planning Prep "jobs to be done".
