Welcome to another edition of the Ecosystem Digest! As we wrap up 2024, check out what we’ve done to help drive your confidence in the Atlassian Marketplace.
Atlassian Marketplace gets a makeover: We’ve revamped the Marketplace to improve user experience and provide you with more simplified app discoverability. We will further revamp as we look ahead, including offering even more relevant collections and page enhancements, so keep an eye out for future improvements!
While we have simplified app discoverability, we have also made it easier for our Marketplace partners to deliver higher-quality apps thanks to new visuals built on an advanced tech stack. Learn more about our Marketplace Makeover.
Discover apps that enhance Rovo Agents: We recently launched a new app collection on the Marketplace called Atlassian Rovo, which improves the discovery of apps that support Rovo agents. These apps offer the latest evolution in human-AI collaboration, including new ways to optimize enterprise data analysis and automate time-consuming tasks.
Rovo-supported third-party apps enhance productivity by integrating seamlessly with existing tools, offering a unified workflow while providing tailored solutions that address specific business needs. Explore Rovo-supported apps.
Compliance changes to our Marketplace Partner Program:
As we continue striving to improve how we meet the needs of our enterprise customers, we recently announced changes to our partner program. These changes emphasize enhancing trust, security, and compliance within our ecosystem.
Our Platinum partners must now possess SOC2 Type II or ISO27001:2022 compliance and have a third-party validated Trust Center, while Gold partners are required to be in the process of obtaining one of these certifications.
While dedicating ourselves to upholding high standards of security and trust across the ecosystem, we have also released a new program of work aligned with Vanta, a team of third-party experts to help Marketplace Partners reach their compliance goals. Interested Partners should contact their Partner Manager for more information.
Secret and malware scanning for Data Center apps (now live): Atlassian has launched new capabilities for Ecoscanner to scan Data Center apps on the Marketplace for hard-coded secrets and potential malware. These additional features help protect customer data while securing Data Center apps and the Atlassian Ecosystem.
Downtime reduction for app data residency migrations (now live): Downtime reduction decreases the default duration of app data residency migration downtime from 24 hours to two hours. This is designed to minimize downtime during realm migrations, making the process more efficient and less disruptive for our customers.
Realm persistence for Connect data residency (now live): Realm persistence is a significant addition to our data residency functionality, ensuring that customer app data remains in its original region (geolocation) following a reinstallation. With this new feature, admins may reinstall apps and are no longer dependent on the completion of migrations.
Streamlining app legal agreements
Earlier this year, Atlassian partnered with Bonterms to help our Marketplace Partners standardize and adopt customizable legal templates. When Marketplace Partners offer legal agreements through Bonterms, customers no longer need to spend time and resources reading distinct legal agreements for every app. Instead, legal teams can familiarize themselves with the standard agreement and then review the provider-specific terms, which outline any changes made for that individual app— helping customers enjoy a uniform approach across all their apps.
Two Atlassian Marketplace Partners, Revyz and Togetha Software, have recently adopted Bonterms legal agreements to simplify cloud migrations for customers. If you are a customer interested in seeing more Partners adopt standard legal templates, please email pgrove@atlassian.com to learn more about this program.
From a fresh new look to enhanced security measures, we're investing in improvements and are here to support your journey every step of the way. Stay tuned next quarter for more updates!
