Check out this list of recently shipped and upcoming feature highlights from the Data Center product roadmap to learn what's new and what's coming for your favorite products.
SHIPPED Show/hide empty fields in the issue view
Streamline the process of filling out empty custom fields, making them visible in the issue view by default. This is now possible with the new Empty custom field configuration feature that allows admins to show or hide custom fields in the issue view. Learn how to configure this feature in the Jira Software 9.9 release notes.
SHIPPED Sharing requests with a group in Jira Service Management
Project admins can now add Jira groups as customers of their projects. They'll no longer need to rebuild this grouping of internal help-seekers (employees) within organizations or manually add each member as a request participant to grant them access to requests—simply share requests with the group itself. Check it out on Jira Service Management’s 5.9 release notes.
SHIPPED Clone a queue in Jira Service Management
Quickly configure new and/or similar queues by cloning existing queues with predefined configurations. Project admins can save time and increase productivity by copying an existing queue to use as a template for a new and similar queue. Learn how to clone a queue in Jira Service Management 5.10 release notes.
SHIPPED Single space indexing in Confluence
This new feature will allow administrators to re-index a specific space promptly, instead of performing a complete re-index that could take hours to complete and propagate. This enhancement significantly boosts productivity because it helps the admin get the instance back on its feet sooner, speeds up troubleshooting times, and fixes issues related to search in a speedy manner. Learn more on the Confluence 8.4 release notes.
SHIPPED Enforced project settings in Bitbucket
Implement project settings that restrict repository admins from altering configurations that could potentially affect security or compliance. This new feature ensures that all projects adhere to a unified set of standards and eliminates any confusion with regard to compliance. Read about this feature in Bitbucket’s 8.9 release notes.
SHIPPED Ephemeral agents for Bamboo
Scale on demand and strengthen Bamboo’s security with build isolation using ephemeral agents. Each execution of a Bamboo job or deployment environment will run on a newly created remote agent hosted through Kubernetes. Each agent will expire after doing its job, freeing up resources and reducing costs. Check out the Bamboo 9.3 release notes to learn more.
SHIPPED Improved security with Application tunnels for Bamboo
You have asked and we delivered: support for Application Tunnels in Bamboo is finally here! Now you can securely connect your cloud products to Bamboo, without the need to open up your network to incoming connections. Check out the Bamboo 9.3 release notes to learn more.bi
COMING SOON Dark Theme in Data Center
We recently announced a planned dark theme for all our products. This will give users the ability to work in their preferred interface, offering a customized experience that helps many people to better focus on their screens. This project is in active development and will release on an individual product level rolling out over the next 12 months. Read about dark theme in Data Center here.
COMING SOON App usage for Jira Software and Jira Service Management
In Jira Software and Jira Service Management, discover app usage and insights within an instance to drive informed decisions about performance, security, and ROI. With App Usage Insights, admins now have greater insight into which apps are being used in which areas of an instance, how often, and at what scale.
COMING SOON S3 object storage for Jira Software and Jira Service Management
Store Jira attachments in AWS S3 Object Storage for better scalability, security, and availability.
COMING SOON Project Shortcut reorder in Jira Software
This upcoming feature allows a Jira project admin to re-order projects either via drag-and-drop or with new up/down buttons that we’ve added in the context menu for each shortcut. Quickly access and choose the relevant link / shortcut rather than having to scroll through the listed options.
COMING SOON Automate issue lookup for Jira Software
Build automation using results from look-up issue JQL query search. Whenever you want to get a list of issue keys to include in a correspondence, do routine checks on a group of issues, or just get a count of issues matching a condition, lookup issues is the component to use.
COMING SOON Integrity checker performance improvements for Jira Software
Expect more reliable performance from the integrity checker as improvements have been made to optimize its use for larger-scale instances.
COMING SOON Create variable in Automation for Jira Software
Define your own smart value which can be used in other actions and conditions in the same rule in automation for Jira. The smart value you define can consist of other smart values, as well as math functions.
COMING SOON Queue inline editing in Jira Service Management
Enable agents to quickly and easily update commonly used fields from the queue view. With queue inline editing, agents no longer have to navigate into the issue to update frequently used fields, improving the speed of work and increasing agent productivity.
COMING SOON Multi KB linking in Jira Service Management
Link together multiple Confluence spaces to create a comprehensive knowledge base and a unified searchable portal for your customers. Agents and customers will be able to access a wider range of articles for self-service, enhancing your customer service experiences and reducing turnaround times.
COMING SOON Captions for images in Confluence
Coming soon in Confluence, users can add captions to images on pages and blogs to give readers more context and information.
COMING SOON Resolvable comments for Bitbucket
Reduce the time spent evaluating pull request comments with the new resolvable comment feature. This allows users to clearly understand which pull request comments have already been addressed and which need to be addressed.
COMING SOON Automerge of pull requests in Bitbucket
Improve developer productivity by merging pull requests automatically. When a pull request receives enough approvals, has no merge blockers, and all builds are green, it will no longer require developers to manually check if it is ready for merge.
COMING SOON Improved high availability for Bamboo
Improved performance at scale with high availability. Increase Bamboo’s reliability and redundancy and minimize the impact of a primary node going down.
Accessible design allows people of all abilities to interact with, understand, and navigate our products. We are continuing to optimize our products with accessibility updates to empower all people to work independently.
SHIPPED Accessibility fixes for low-vision and keyboard-only users in Jira Software
In Jira Software we’ve developed more accessibility updates for screen reader and keyboard-only users. Highlights include an improved label description in the Kanban board and fixed navigation when creating an issue.
SHIPPED Accessibility fixes for Jira Service Management and Bitbucket
In Jira Service Management and Bitbucket removed known accessibility blockers from the most popular scenarios. All disability cohorts will benefit from the upgrade. Among them include frequently requested missing labels, roles, and component attribute names.

Hi @jammsen
Thank you for the comment! I've updated the article to include the link
Dark theme for Bamboo is under consideration but is not planned for our roadmap at this time.
Thank you, @Claire Chisholm !
@Claire Chisholm Is there a more recent Digest post for everything that's happened since Aug 2023? I'm looking around and I can't find it, if so. Thanks!
Hi @carolyn frenchGreat timing - we just posted a new DC Digest today! You'll find it at this link: Q1 Data Center Digest.
Additionally, we have another Data Center Digest that we posted in November that covers August-Nov. That link is here.
@Claire Chisholm Great timing indeed!
I think I didn't find the one that goes to Nov because it has the same name as this one.
Would you mind cross posting the Q1 Data Center Digest into the Government group? I thought it was helpful last time you did that.
