What Memory Pool Info actually explains?

Qumar June 20, 2017

1. Code Cache ?
(hardly 20-25% free most of the time)

2. Metaspace?( always seems full and 0% free)

3. Compressed Class Space ? (96% free means?)

4. PS Eden Space? (55% free)

5. PS Survivor Space? (100% Free)

6. PS Old Gen ? (0% free)

What do they mean by showing the usuage? when I need to take an action to prevent system?

Not really an Atlassian thing directly, as Java memory handling is fun!

There's a good introduction to most of it at https://smarttechie.org/2016/08/15/understanding-the-java-memory-model-and-the-garbage-collection/ (diagrams aren't great, but the wording explains a lot)
