Deleting a users from Crowd - impact to external AD

This question is in reference to Atlassian Documentation: Deleting or Deactivating a User

If you 'delete' a user from Crowd and you are synchronizing (read/write) with AD, will it 'delete' the user from the external AD?

Yes, it will.

Unless:

  • The "remove user" option is unchecked in the permissions tab of your directory in Crowd's admin console

    OR

  • The technical AD account you defined in the username property of your directory's connector tab has read-only rights in AD (which means non AD Admin in most cases)
