Using Automation to help sync issues during import

We have a client who uses their own JIRA. We periodically do exports and issue Imports to our JIRA to provide certain additional reporting, status, etc.

Has anyone used the automation plugin to do importing of issues? I would be interested if anyone has setup automation for importing.

It might be complicated, because we need to check for duplicates and merge data. but if someone has done a simplistic automation of import, I could take to the next level

You mean if someone has make any automation rule for after-importing the data on your project? Do you mean another app?
