multi-excerpt macro using confluence wiki is not supported in Confluence.

gangishetty manideep January 14, 2025 edited

When I try to insert multi except using confluence wiki, I'm getting the following error:

Unknown macro: {multi-excerpt}

My Markup code:

{multi-excerpt:name=test}
Hello
{multi-excerpt}

Hi @gangishetty manideep

The "Unknown macro: {multi-excerpt}" error usually means the MultiExcerpt app isn't installed or enabled in your Confluence instance. Here are a few things to check:

  1. Is the MultiExcerpt app installed? It's a third-party app, so it won’t work unless added from the Atlassian Marketplace.
  2. Double-check your syntax: {multi-excerpt:name=test}Your content here{multi-excerpt}.
  3. Make sure the app is enabled, and you have the right permissions to use it.
  4. Verify compatibility between the app and your Confluence version.

If you’re still stuck, I’d recommend reaching out to your admin or the app's support team. Hope this helps! 😊

I am able to add the multiexcerpt in confluence using the UI, but it is not supported when I insert it using confluence wiki.
