Hello,

This may he an old issue but I'm visiting a page we created a few years ago and running into this Unknown macro: 'view-git-file'. Is there a replacement macro that we can use? Ideally without name change, if not how to find/replace the references to this old macro. I've used Confluence for years but first time to need admin duties.

Thank you,

-Ayman

Hi @Ayman Habib,

Looks like that's the macro from the plugin Git for Confluence that was disabled/uninstalled from your Confluence instance. I don't think there's another plugin that uses the same name for its macro, but you can try to search for similar plugins in the Atlassian marketplace.

To get a list of pages with the old macro, go to Administration > General Configuration  > Macro Usage (you may need to enable/install this plugin again to see its statistics).

Thanks @Kseniia Trushnikova The plugin is out of date with our current confluence server version, and because the old Macro is not functional it doesn't show up under Macro Usage. Is there a chance we can do "raw" search of the contents to find the macro usage instances (as markup)?

If not I'll just spot fix the call sites that I come across, unless a better solution exists. I could try to create a macro with the same name so it can be located/found but don't know how involved is the macro creation process.

Thank you again
