mandatory fields are not showing upon creating JIRA Issue in Confluence

Pangianto Pang October 31, 2012

Hi all,

I am trying to create JIRA issue from Confluence, the Confluence does not show the mandatory fields and sometimes causing error in creating JIRA issue. (e.g. reporter is required but not available)

How to make all the fields or at least all the mandatory fields available to be input in the insert JIRA issue form in the Confluence?

Thanks in advance!!

Hi,

I guess you are using the JIRA Issue Macro (Insert -> JIRA Issue). By doing so you have no chance of modifying the available fields. What you could do though, is using a JIRA Issue Collector (bundled in JIRA from JIRA 5.1 on). The basic idea is to creat a issue collector and then use the HTML Macro (or write a user macro) to insert it into the page. Instruction can be found here: https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/JIRA/Advanced+Use+of+the+JIRA+Issue+Collector (section "Embeding the issue collector")

A few examples are discussed here: https://answers.atlassian.com/questions/43283/i-m-using-the-jira-issue-collector-plugin-to-collect-feedback-on-confluence-pages?page=1#74517

Hope that helps? Cheers, David
