log application

Hsu Yao Chang July 17, 2015

Dear Partners,

We install confluence by ubuntu server . ( We setup application and database server for confluence ) . We also setup AD account for confluence account . It can work in the intranet environment. Now we want to move the environment to DMZ location of firewall. We can use local account to log in confluence. But we can not login confluence by ad account. Can we find the log information about why we can not login by ad account in DMZ location . Thank you.

Hi Hsu,

Sounds like you may have a port blocking issue between Confluence and your AD Domain Controller. You can at least get an idea about this from your web interface - log in as the local account, go into Administration, and pull up the User Directories page.

If there's no firewall block, when you click Synchronise, your AD directory should say it was able to sync:

If there is a block in place, it will say synchronisation failed. You can verify this by looking in your application log (located at <Confluence_HOME>/logs/atlassian-confluence.log) and checking the entries near the bottom of the file that match when you tried to do the LDAP sync.
