is content from the HTML Include macro indexed

Tig September 22, 2016

This question is in reference to Atlassian Documentation: HTML Include Macro

To use good Knowledge Management practices, we'd like to have only one source of truth, which sometimes will not be on Confluence. However, the content will need to be seen/used by Confluence.

Found the HTML Include macro, and to know if this will do the trick, I need to know one thing ... is the included content found when someone does a search? so if a user searches for "whosiewhats" and the only place this resides is on the included content, will this page appear in the Confluence search results?

thanks!

Generally, Confluence can't index content included from outside Confluence. However, you can use Cache for Confluence - see How to index external content using the CACHE macro.
