how can I stick the first row of a table?

This question is in reference to Atlassian Documentation: Tables

how can I stick the first row of a table? I´m trying with the button "header row" but it does not work. How can I check all the conditions mentioned above?

Standard troubleshooting:

1. Copy just the table to a new, blank page.
   a. Does it work? Then the problem is with the original page.
   b. Does it not work? Then there is at least a problem with the table. Simplify the table until it works, then paste it back to the original page to see if it works, or if there are also problems with the page.
