can not access confluence admin after changing context path

Hello,

After changing jira and confluence context path to overcome problem like this one https://confluence.atlassian.com/confkb/logging-into-another-atlassian-application-logs-me-out-of-confluence-268043930.html?_ga=2.141569141.696841368.1568203659-224622750.1495613995

when starting confluence I'm asked to change the base URL (as expected) but when trying to access the admin section to do that i get the message below.

BTW - the URL is OK (it contain the new context)

Oops - an error has occurred

com.atlassian.crowd.exception.runtime.OperationFailedException: The following URL does not specify a valid Crowd User Management REST service: http://192.168.201.11:8080/rest/usermanagement/1/authentication?username=draveh
    at com.atlassian.crowd.embedded.core.CrowdServiceImpl.convertOperationFailedException(CrowdServiceImpl.java:664)

  • Hello there, Raveh!

Looking at the excerpt you shared with us, it seems that Crowd is pointing to the old address of your instances. Since you stated that the URLs have been recently changed, I believe we could start by checking exactly this.

You might need to update the URL within your Crowd settings before everything works as expected. You should be able to check this here:

  1. Go to Crowd
  2. Click Application
  3. Select Confluence
  4. Check the URL there

If the URL does not match the one you have currently set for Confluence, you should change it.

Further, it could be beneficial for the situation if we take a look into this documentation:

The issue can also be triggered by an incorrectly uppercased letter in the set URL, which is the exact situation displayed in the article above.

Let us hear from you. Looking forward to your reply!

Hello,

Thanks, i do not use crowd (at least not directly). but i did the steps above in Jira, which make the connection between Jira and Confluence to be active. but it didn't help to solve the issue.

it seems the issue is on the confluence side. it ask me to change its base URL (using a popup) but when i press the link inside the popup i get the oops message above.

is there a way to change confluence base URL using other methods?

Danny
