Why doesn't the Children Display macro show excerpts that come from other macros?

We use the Children Display macro w/Excerpt option to dynamically provide a summary of content on child pages. But, unlike the Excerpt macro itself, only text entered directly into the Excerpt macro is displayed; any content coming from other macros is ignored. This severely limits the usefulness of this macro because we often get text from Scaffolding data macros (input forms) or from IncludePage and MultiexcerptInclude macros in our excerpts.

Are there any plans to fix this? Does anyone have a workaround?

Maybe i can help you with a workaround: you can use the content by label macro. this macro has the excerpt option as well and displays the excerpt including all other macros.

for filtering you can use labels. i hope, that will help.

Yes, this is a good workaround. The font is larger, which takes up more space, and we'll have to make sure the correct labels are added to the pages, but it works. It does what we want. Thanks so much for responding
