I am studying for my ACP-520 exam and looking at default permissions. Looked at the default global permissions and I noticed:
Is there a reason why this is the default? jira-software-users-orgname isn't even a default access group for Confluence.
Hi @Zachary Wilcox Welcome to the Atlassian community.
In Confluence Cloud, the Jira Software Users group is granted certain permissions by default because of the integration between Jira Software and Confluence.
This group gets the "Create Space" permission in Confluence Cloud because it's assumed that members of this group may need to create spaces in Confluence to support their Jira projects. By granting this permission, teams can easily create and manage Confluence spaces alongside their Jira projects.
You can update the global configuration based on your requirements but by default this is the global permissions configuration in Confluence cloud.
Let me know in case of any questions or concerns.
Thanks
Sagar
[EDIT: my bad; I just saw that this is a bit older post; behavior might have changed a bit since then - as stated below this doesn't seem the be the case anymore]
Hmmm @Zachary Wilcox ,
I've just checked this on one site I created just this Monday and here's how it looks for me.
I don't remember having this group automatically added to any of the sites I've created in the last couple of months. Note that I have integration between Jira and Confuence and both products are under the same site. However, one additional thing is that I've first added Jira and then added Confluence later on.
Is there any particular way you've opened a new organization/site for exam prep?
Cheers,
Tobi
