Which Theme Designer is the best

I don't have good knowledge of CSS and JavaScript but would like to have a tool/plugin in which i can design themes as per my Organization needs. I can arrange for a Developer who is good in CSS and JS but preferable would be a scenario where i am able to design a Theme by myself.

Please suggest one.

You've got four basic options here:

  • Use a marketplace theme module, ideally one that has enough flexibility to be adapted to what you need.  The problem for you with pre-designed one-off themes is that they are rarely flexible.
  • Use one of the advanced theming engines - Brikit and Refined theme allow you to have multiple preset themes with quite a lot of flexibilty in their configuration, with some access to CSS and JS
  • Use Themebuilder - this is in the same genre as Brikit and Refined, in that it does the many theme thing, but it takes it a step further and lets you build your entire theme from scratch and inside Confluence itself, giving you almost complete access to do what you want in the theme.  But it doesn't have much in the way of preset themes and you will need to invest the time in building something that works for you.
  • Write your own theme module, starting at https://developer.atlassian.com/confdev/confluence-plugin-guide/confluence-plugin-module-types/theme-module

There are advantages and disadvantages to all of these - some options need more effort and skill, some cost money, some you'll find won't be flexible enough, some are harder to upgrade (some themes simply don't get upgraded).  I'd take a good look at the three "theme engines" I've mentioned above to be honest.

Note that I work for Adaptavist, albeit not in the Themebuilder team.  I hope you can see that I'd have written the same answer even if I hadn't.  Although TB really is great for heavy customisation wink
