What is Confluence Content Notifications Plugin?

I can't find anything online about this plugin and all the description says is: "Declares the Confluence Content Notifications"

I want to know what this plugin does and if disabling certain modules would disable certain notifications. For example, would disabling "page-edited-notification" actually prevent the system from determining if the page was edited and making a notification about it? And is this in-app notifications or email notifications?

Hello Shane, there ins't much I know about this module - though I know that it manages outgoing notifications when adding comments to a file, it also interacts with other elements such as Hipchat notifications. A good way to monitor if disabling will cause changes from being registered, is to tail the logs after disabling the component in question.
