I am admin on two different confluence instances. I can create an application link between them.
Besides adding the other app to the application navigator menu at the top left, are there any benefits to doing this?
Is it possible to embed content from one app into another, or make search requests?
But why would you do such a thing - unless you want to create a cluster and keep the both instances in sync to act as a failover.
Yet I am not aware of any procedure that would keep the both in sync automatically or manually triggered.
I did in fact give a couple of examples of why I might want to do such a thing, and failover clustering is not one of them. Besides, that would better be accomplished at an infrastructure level. Applinks are an application feature.
