View database entries on another page

I find the database feature in Confluence very interesting. I'm adding each employee's confluence profile to a database with various info about them, which team they belong to, and which customers they have responsibility for. This way we can see if an employee has too many responsibilities and redirect some work to others. That's all well and good.

But..

I cannot find a good clean way to display a database view on another page.

I can embed the database view into a page, sure.. But this is clunky. It's large and bulky, and should not have buttons a user can click to change the contents/view of the database. I want a cleaner way of displaying ONLY the contents of a database, not all the clutter around it.

Are there any plugins for Confluence that allows this?

I wish there were more ways to integrate database content into things like tables, or even graphics.

If anyone has any good plugins/apps that pulls data from Confluence databases to visualize or organize it in any way, please let me know!

Hi @Robert

You can use the Embed Database macro and specify, what you want to embed from that particular DB.

Compare the look of the narrowed down DB embed andthe full DB embed.

Thanks for your answer! Perhaps I need to structure my database differently. I have added which responsibilities an employee has to the employee table. But when I try to embed the database I can either show all employees in the full view (including all the buttons) or I can show each individual user. However, I want to show all employees with the compressed view style like it is when it is narrowed down.

If I however go to the customer database, and then add a "core team" column with each employee that has responsibility for this customer, I can embed the customer database, choose one customer, and then focus on the column with the core team.

So I guess that's my answer. But it doesn't quite give me the freedom to do what I want. If I wanted to for example retrieve the employee table with all columns, but compress the view so that it's just the table, and then hide columns I didn't want, I don't know if I could do that.

you can set up different views showing the specific things you want to present - there is also an open ticket asking for the option to share just the views - so feel free to look at that and vote on it also - [CONFCLOUD-79661] Option to Restrict View Toggling for Embedded Database Views - Create and track feature requests for Atlassian products.

Thank you for the reply.

I tried that, but I found the views to be very clunky and take up too much space. They shouldn't need all those buttons and space around them when just embedding them into another page. There are also limited options to filter them and they load slowly.
