Using a space for a site homepage: sidebar disappears

I want to use a space as the landing page for our instance of Confluence and have been developing one for that purpose, to acclimate new users and provide pages of general information. I changed the settings today to see how it would look, and discovered that the new 'home' only shows the space Overview page. The sidebar with related space blog and pages does not appear.

Have I missed something in the general settings that would cause this issue, or is it not designed to display the entire space when you land there?

Any guidance would be appreciated. Thanks!

No making a space your landing page is not the problem.

Are you able to see the space settings on the left frame? if yes click on it and you will be able to see Sidebar Configuration.

Please let me know how it goes.

@FadouaI can configure the sidebar in space settings when I go to the actual space, but the landing-page version only shows the overview page and the whole sidebar is hidden.

I should mention also that this is using the new cloud display, where the main nav is at the top of the browser.

I am seeing the top navigation bar (which I really like). It looks like once you make a space the site landing page you lose the side bar.

If you think about it, it won't look good having a homepage with the option of editing the space settings. You can customize your page by adding links to it or using some of Confluence macros.

Attached is a screenshot from my instance after I made a space my landing page.

My page is blank because I have child pages underneath

Please let me know if you have any other questions. I can run tests for you from my end.

@FadouaThanks, that's what I suspected, I just wanted to confirm.

I have created a workaround for this (a link which you can put on the page that basically says "if you'd like to see the left sidebar, and it's not there, click here to reload the page with sidebar), which I have posted more about on this thread:
