User link is wrong in Confluence blog post

Chris Tybur June 11, 2012

I have a space in my Confluence 4.2 wiki that is used as a blog. Different people post to it just fine, however, I have a slight issue with one user.

When he posts something new, the link that appears at the top of the post to his profile is wrong. The link is normally something like https://mywiki.com/display/~jdoe, but for him it's https://mywiki.com/display/~John+Doe, which doesn't exist.

We have an LDAP directory defined in our wiki, and everyone uses their Active Directory account to log in. This problem cropped up some time in the last couple of months, but I can't recall what might have changed in our Confluence install at that time. Any idea why that link is wrong? Is there a record somewhere in the database associated with his account that got messed up somehow?

Perhaps he has an account in the internal directory and as such he's different.

I've checked and I can't find an internal account for him.
