Did you mean:

User like variable

Martin Janeček January 31, 2025

Hi

is there any way to create a "variable" for the user?

For example, write notes from a meeting, where in the header I have written who attended the meeting. And as I write the notes, for people who do not have access to confluence, I always have to write their name manually.

It occurred to me, that if in the header in the list of participants I have e.g. John Doe,
I would somehow set it up, so that if I write "@" (search for the user) then John Doe would also be offered to me there.

Or something to that effect.

Thanks

Hi @Martin Janeček

I miss variables on Confluence and I wasn't able to find an app that would support my needs.

As a workaround, if you have a certain pool of non-Confluence folks joining your meetings, you can give them 'guest' access. Guests are free and you can add up to 5 guests per one paid seat.

Hi @Kristian Klima and @Martin Janeček

To the best of my knowledge, Confluence doesn't currently support dynamic content or variables out of the box—and I wasn’t able to find an app that does either.

So, I decided to build one: 👉 Suprasync

It’s still a work in progress and may not be a perfect match for your use case just yet, but I hope you’ll find it helpful! I’d really value any feedback or ideas you have for making it better.

Wishing you a great week ahead!

Best regards,
