Update "alarm" for Confluence pages

Hi everyone,

is there a feature or a plugin for Confluence to set some sort of a periodic "alarm" for a page so that the author, who sets this alarm for herself gets a notification, which after viewing the page for which the alarm was set, would be "switched-off" until the next time.

The goal is keeping the information up-to-date.

Any ideas are welcome,

Regards,

Ekaterina

Well if you are open to a paid plugin, you could write a workflow to do what you want with comala-workflows

Hi Bill, thanks for the suggestion. We use Comala workflows, but the best would be to have the feature independent from the workflow to be able to combine it for pages with different workflows or for pages not assigned to any workflow.

yes would be nice, but your alternative to an additional workflow is to develop a user macro/plugin. A workflow is probably the quicker and cheaper way to go.

Hi Bill, true, but we found the new feature saved for later would be a good option, even though one shall define the time frame on their own. We've just updated and did not have the feature until now.

yeah, I have just found that it is hard to expect 100% compliance with any manual method, not that people resist, but forget to perform the task, or misunderstand what they are supposed to do..

And save for later sets no alarm/reminder.

Good luck!

Correct, thanks for your contribution!

The Better Content Archiving app supports periodic reviews.

You can configure this to email the people responsible for the page in every N days:

page-expiration-tracking.png

They can then review the page and decide to:

  • edit it -> it makes it "up-to-date" for another N days
  • confirm that it is still valid without changes -> it makes it "up-to-date" for another N days
  • archive it -> it will be archived to reduce the clutter in Confluence

(Discl. it is a paid and supported app developed by our team.)
