Unable to find resource '/template/simple/textarea.vm'

biotex November 13, 2023

We have confluence server running on a Windows server. While trying to upgrade the confluence (server), I ran into an issue that prevented me from upgrading. When I clicked on the link to enter the license, I got the error message 'Unable to find resource '/template/simple/texatarea.vm'. It would not let me put my license. I have rebooted my server several times and also restarted the confluence service. But I continue to get the same error.Capture.PNGCapture2.PNG

Hi @biotex ,

you can simply click on the mentioend page option to add the licesne and add your valid license then it will run perfectly. If you are facing issue after clicking on that

Cause :-

  • Some times due to the plugin cache issue
  • Unable to find the path folder

Please find the below solution link.

Sanjen

Thank you for answering so quickly. Unfortunately, i have tried all these steps and still get the same error. The link that you provided is from docker (linux image) and shows unix commands but I am running the Confluence server on Windows Server. Also, when I click on the link to enter the license number, it displays the other error page, which I showed in the second screenshot. It does not give me any option to enter the license number.

Yes, I tried to clear all the caches (plugins-cache, plugins-osgi-cache, plugins-temp, and bundled-plugins). I restarted the server again and have the same issue.

I can't raise a support ticket since it is for starter license and the only option given is to get answers from community. I tried that route as well. Thank you for your continued assistance!
