Hello @Gen Mark Dulay,
If you’re seeking for an easy way to create knowledge base articles in Confluence from Jira issues based on a status change, I suggest taking a look at our application Elements Publish.
You’ll be able to automatically create Confluence pages from Jira issues and add comments to the body as well.
You can check our guide here.
Don't hesitate to try the app for free during 30 days (and it stays free under 10 users).
Hi @Gen Mark Dulay , welcome to the Atlassian Community and thanks for your question.
Please can you explain a little bit what you mean when you say you want to transfer issues to articles?
It would be possible, for example, to have a transition screen when you're closing the issue to collect some information about how the issue was resolved. You could then probably automate the creation of a Confluence page from that but would probably still need a manual invention to make the article more useful.
Is that what you meant?

Hi @Valerie Knapp , I am currently working on a knowledge base project from Jira. On Queues there's "create an issue" which basically asking a question. I wonder once the query has been resolved and it's status is already "Done" would it be possible to transfer automatically that item onto Knowledge base article, so the item will appear in Confluence as well?
BTW, thank you for responding promptly to my question. I really need someone to guide me in using Atlassian products.

Hi @Gen Mark Dulay , thanks for your feedback and apologies for the delay in replying.
Basically, you could have an automation on the closing of an issue to create automatically a page in Confluence -
Here, I am using the issue summary as the page title. You might want to do something else or have a title like {{issue.summary}} : {{issue.suggestedsolution}} where you are creating a page with the question and the answer (again, just in the title). It's not possible yet to do much more in terms of saying, for example, to copy the issue description into the body of the Confluence page. However, 1) there are new automations all the time in Confluence so watch this space and 2) this is more of a starting point, where you would need to manually intervene after the page is created to improve it.
Anyway, apologies again for the delay. Let me know if you have any feedback or questions.
Cheers!

Hi @Valerie Knapp ! This is helpful. It would be great if comments from issue turn up into body of the Confluence page once the status is Done. If you know how to make this work, can you please let me know? Thank you so much.
I have been exploring automation functions they are quite overwhelming.
Thanks
Gen Mark

Hi @Gen Mark Dulay , thanks for your reply.
Atlassian have made available some worked examples for how to set up automation rules here - https://www.atlassian.com/software/jira/automation-template-library/jira-service-management . There is, in fact, a rule about connecting Jira to Confluence but I can't get the page to work in this moment. Please can you have a look in the template library and see if there is anything which helps you?
Cheers
