I'm writing a custom theme for Confluence, and in the main descriptor file, main.vmd, I refer to theme object to set some colors on inlined CSS style. The theme class is set in the atlassian-plugin.xml, and when viewing a page in a space with the theme applied, the CSS-color-setting method from theme object is called, and color is set.
However, when the same page is opened in edit mode, the theme object is no longer from the class set in atlassian-plugin.xml, but Confluence's DefaultTheme. The decorators are still from the theme, but the "$theme" object referred in the main.vmd changes to DefaultTheme.
I cannot grasp why this happens, so I don't even know where to start looking for the problem. Can someone offer some insight what is happening here?
I finally found the reason - I had removed "page-breadcrumbs.vm" parsing from the themes page descriptor. When breadcrumps is added, the theme object does not change to default theme. Why this happens, remains a mystery for me.
