Sprint reports on Confluence based on multi-project team based sprint boards

Ayesha Ibrahim April 9, 2024

Hello Atlassian Community!

Need your suggestion on building sprint reports. So basically we run sprints based on teams and every team has a separate sprint board that pulls issues from the same projects using a filter. I am less than a year old and many processes have long been setup before I joined in although I was the one who introduced the multi-project sprint board because that was a need at the time as we had to roll out sprints within the DevOps. So now I want to create Confluence reports based on those sprints and I don't know how. My Confluence skill set is of a basic level but I can learn quickly.

I want the report to pull issues from a sprint with estimates and actuals from Tempo which I can later look into to compare. Also I want to track scope creep and change. So any suggestions, tips and links are most welcomed. TIA

Regards,

Ayesha

Hi @Ayesha Ibrahim,

Take a look a over our Great Gadgets app for Confluence. It offers all you need  for creating powerful sprint reports in Confluence: sprint burndown / burnup, team velocity with scope change, release burndown/burnup, project key-numbers, etc. And you can display all of these for individual teams or for your global release. The app has full support for time estimates.

If you need any assistance with setting-up the reports by using our app, please contact support@stonikbyte.com. The app has a free trial of 1 month.

Hope this helps.

Hey @Ayesha Ibrahim welcome to the community!

Trying to understand a bit more about your question. So Tempo aside, you're trying to

1) create different sprint reports on a Confluence page, based on different boards in the same project (Project A)

2) create other sprint reports on the same Confluence page (above), based on different boards in another (DevOps) project (Project B)?

Btw, you can link a sprint to a Confluence page. More details here.
Hope the above helps!

Hi @TC Wang thanks for getting back. Sorry, I had lost the link to this conversation so could not get back.

So basically we have projects A, B, C setup where we create issues - epics, stories, tasks, test plans etc.

We have a board Z that pulls issues epics, stories, tasks from projects A,B,C for team Dev where we run their sprint.

And we have board Y that pulls issues test plans, test executions, tasks from projects A,B,C for team Test where we run their sprint separately.

I want to create sprint documents based on boards Z and Y to track work in progress, sprint scope change/creep. Team logs hours against issues which is recorded on Tempo.

Hey @Ayesha Ibrahim then I think you can follow my 1) in my previous message to create a Confluence page to accommodate different reporting from boards Y and Z. Hope this helps!
