Sidebar & search box

Hi,

I found the sidebar search box behaves differently to the main search box why is that? Is it possible to make it behave the same as to top main search box or remove it completely from view?

Also, the sidebar doesn't seem to appear for IE9 when i click on the icon to toggle it, although it works for some other users in our environment. Is there known issues associated with this?

in relation to the behaviour of the search box in the sidebar - it doesn't display the list of to prompt for potential search search terms.
