Searching for the instances in which the particular macro is used is not fetching the effective resu

Abhishek Bharadwaj June 4, 2018

Hi,

There is a syntax for macro searching in Confluence,

macroName: x* (x is the macro/add-on key)

We upgraded our confluence to v6.1.4 and the above macro search is not working properly.

It is showing only 55 results where it has to show 113. We Rebuilt the index from scratch and even it did not work.

Please help in resolving this.

Thanks ,

How do you know there are 113?  Can you find one of them that is missing from the search results?

Also, you might have used it 113 times, but if you've used it more than once on a page, that will only return one result.

Thanks for the reply!

Actually we upgraded our Confluence form v5.0.3 to v6.1.4.

When we checked in the older version, we had 113 instance shown in the result. Even in the testing environment of v6.1.4, 113 instance were show. But in the newer Production wiki, only 55 instances were shown. And , yes there were actually  113 pages  found and in some of the pages there are 4 to 5 excel macros used and which is considered as 1 instance only.

Our question is why we are not able to get all the 113 instances in the new Production v6.1.4 when all the 113 pages are still found in Production(not missing)!

Thanks in advance
