I need to log into Confluence to access a site. There is no password reset link at the login stage and i have looked on various help resources on Confluence, Atlassian etc. and articles but they either point me to other links that i can't access or advise to follow paths that i can't see exist on the page.
Please can you help me? Thanks,
Lydia
If there is no "Can't login?" link then it has been disabled, likely because you are connecting to Confluence using an active directory, i.e. external password verification.
The only team that can help you is that who manages your Confluence instance, which is more than likely a team or a group in your/that company - maybe there is a support link somewhere there how to reach them.
So basically a few things can happen:
- either you have a local account (local to Confluence, Confluence manages your password), then the link is just disabled, but the page itself might still be available at confluence.url/forgotuserpassword.action -- keep in mind this will probably not work though.. because there should be a reason why the link was hidden
- or you have an externally managed account (Confluence does not manage your password, it does not have it), most likely that would be how you log into your laptop or other tools
- or your account in Confluence is disabled, regardless of the above 2, it won't permit you to log in, I think it would still give the same confusing error but I am a bit hazy on this
Either way, it's the team that manages that Confluence instance that you need to contact, they should know how Confluence authentication is set up, check if there's anything wrong with your account.
