Pre-filling a variable field in a template, based on another variable field

I'm trying to pre-fill one variable, when I select an item in another variable.

If this was Excel, for example, it would be a pretty simple IF formula. IF(variable 1 = "x", variable 2 = "y", "z").

Can I do similar automations in a confluence template?

Unfortunately neither of these would quite work, as the variable is in the middle of other text. So I've just made several versions of the template in the end, and the relevant fields are then pre-filled in for each template, and users just have to choose the right template to start with.

Hello @Edd Tillen,

If you use our Table Filter and Charts for Confluence app, your use case can be easily implemented with its Table Spreadsheet macro as it provides Excel-like view and functionality in Confluence.

Best regards,

Hi @Edd Tillen

You can use our Excellentable spreadsheet for Confluence and use data validation just like you would in Excel.

You can also import an already existing excel with the data validation in excellentable
