I just created a brand new page with only 1 child page, and yet when I try to add the Page Index Macro, it errors with:

"Too many pages The page index macro can display a maximum of 500 pages."

What on earth could be causing this?

Hello there, @Kevin Stanton !

As I understand, the Page Index macro is not loading the pages within your space. This happens because the Page Index shows all pages within the current space.

Here is an excerpt from the macro documentation page:

The Page Index macro creates a hyperlinked alphabetical index of all page titles within the current space.

And here we can see a similar description on the macro settings screen:

That being said, this error will be thrown when your space has more than 500 pages. The macro does not work with spaces with more than 500 pages. Here is the macro documentation page:

Hope this answers your question, Kevin!
