Hello,
I am trying to copy a Page containing several child pages from one space(target) to another(source).
The copy process was completed but the comments for two of the pages weren't there in the target space.
I have already tried removing the page restriction from the tree altogether.
Also, I have all the permissions for both the spaces.
Kindly inform what I am doing wrong here.
If it helps, the Confluence version is 6.6.8
Hello, @Gaurav Arora !
Copying pages is a procedure that is integral to the Confluence experience. With this in mind, we have created some documentation on this here:
An excerpt from that page:
What's included when you copy a page?
Here's some more info on what's included when you copy a page.
Single pagePage and its child pages
Page contents (text, macros) Yes Yes Attached files and images Yes Optional - if you choose not to include attachments, you may see 'unknown-attachment' errors on the copied pages. Comments No No Labels Yes Optional Restrictions No Optional - you may not be able to change this option if you don't have appropriate 'Restrict' space permissions. Watchers No No Saved for later info No No History No No Child pages with view restrictions - Yes - if you have permission to see the child pages.
No - if you do not have permission to see the child pages.
Checking the table, we can see that comments are not expected to be included with page copy.
Let us hear from you Gaurav!
My bad, I may have missed the part in the documentation.
Thank you for your reply.

Hello,
When copying a page, comments will not be included as described in Copy a Page guide. This likely in place because pages could be copied for different reasons, such as to create a template, for personal reference, or expand page in a new location, so comments are only relevant to the original page. Page history is also no copied.
Comments and page history are included if the page is moved instead of copied.
Regards,
Igor
