On the Supported Platforms | Confluence Data Center 9.0 | Atlassian Documentation page MySQL 8 is listed as Deprecated in 9.3 but there are no entries for later versions.
We are running MySQL Community edition, will MySQL 8.4.2+ or later versions still be supported?
Hello Mårten,
Confluence 9.0 only supports MySQL8, but it advises that the End Of Support is coming soon, mostly as a heads-up.
The end of support of MySQL 8.0 is from Confluence v9.3. End of support means that Atlassian will not offer support for, or fix bugs related to, running Confluence 9.3 or later with these databases.
MySQL 8.4 will be supported in Confluence 9.1 and later.
This has been updated in the ‘Good to know’ section for Databases of support platform guide.
I hope this helps.
Please check article End of Support Announcements for Confluence
Hope this helps!

Hi @Samuel Gatica this really doesn't answer my question.
What happens at 9.3? Will 8.4+ be supported from Atlassian?
For all the other databases newer versions are listed as green, but not on MySQL.

Here is the answer from the Atlassian Support Team
According to the announcement, we will stop supporting MySQL 8.0 in Confluence 9.3. This means that Atlassian will not support or fix bugs on the Confluence side of things related to running Confluence 9.3 or later with MySQL 8.0. We will stop performing compatibility tests against MySQL 8.0 before releasing new Confluence versions, and we won't be able to guarantee that things will continue working as expected. It doesn't mean it won't work at all; it may work just fine, but it may not, and in that case, we won't be able to help.
Please note that MySQL itself is supported by Oracle, not Atlassian. This means that Oracle can help with problems that occur directly on MySQL. Therefore, we recommend upgrading to MySQL 8.4 to ensure you can obtain support from Oracle.
Having said that, I discussed this matter internally with my team, and common sense is that our Supported Platforms document needs to be updated because it doesn't list any MySQL versions as supported, it just states that MySQL 8 is deprecated without specifying any specific minor versions, while it should state that version 8.0 is deprecated and 8.4 is supported. I brought this to our developers' attention, and they should fix this information soon.
Alternatively, we recommend you switch to one of the other database types mentioned in our Database Configuration document. We strongly recommend PostgreSQL, which is totally free of charge and is a reliable database type used by Atlassian and most of our customers.
Hope this helps
Best regards
Sam

I couldn't find any official statement that leads me to believe it wouldn't be supported. However, the lack of any mention of MySQL versions past 8 is suspicious.

Yeah it's only that what @Samuel Gatica links to where it says
Atlassian will not support the following databases in Confluence 9.3:
But then mentions support from Oracle if we upgrade to 8.4.
Sure Oracle supports 8.4 but does Atlassian?
