Move a Parent Page to a Blog Post

Is it possible to move a parent page/regular page into a blog post? I know there has been a question about moving a blog post to become a regular post (which I think is unresolved?) but is it possible to the opposite.

As I understand, you need to move pages into the blog post category.

Going straight to the point, I can tell you that this is not possible. The feature has been suggested years ago but Atlassian decided not to pursue it:

• [Confluence Cloud] Convert\move a page to news (blog post) and news to a page

The only way to move content from a page into a blog post is this:

1. Go to the desired page
2. Click to edit it
3. Select all content within the page
4. Copy it
5. Close the editor without saving
6. Go to the blog posts
7. Create a new blog post
8. Paste the content you copied earlier
9. Publish the blog post

The function is implemented in the cloud.
It should not be too difficult to make this available in the DataCenter.
Otherwise I'll have to write my own add-on, but it's not in the interests of the customers.
Presumably the goal is to get everyone into the cloud...that's not going to happen
