Local Confluence Server is not responding for Rest API (404 page)

Darshan_Rudresh October 28, 2019

Hello,

I am also facing a 404 whenever i try to request a rest api call in my local confluence server.

I tried the request in postman as well still ended up in the same 404 page.

I am using this URL: http://localhost:8080/confluence/rest/api/content . My Server is up and running when i try hit this URL in the browser i can see that page not found (404)

Could anyone let me know why is this?

Thanks

Darshan

Hello Darshan,

Thank you for contacting us about this.

Can you confirm if localhost:8080 is the URL you're using to connect to Confluence? Port 8080 is usually the default Jira port, but 8090 is the default for Confluence, unless you've modified it.

The 404 error is telling you that the endpoint doesn't exist at the URL. It's most likely that you're using the incorrect port or URL to start.

Shannon

Hello Shannon,

Thanks for the update. Basically I have not installed JIRA server so I customized the confluence to 8080 the mistake I was hitting a wrong URL the exact URL is http://localhost:8080/confluence/rest/content ( I had added API aftet the rest so I was getting a 404 error message)

Thank you for the information

Regards,

Darshan

Hi Darshan,

Thank you for pointing that out. I missed the additional 'api' added as well. Glad you got it working in the end.

Take care, and have a pleasant week.

Shannon
