Layout - New Cloud confluence - no single column option

Why in the new cloud confluence on a page under the layout button can I not select a single column layout? Is there a work around

Community moderators have prevented the ability to post new answers.

Having no layout is basically single layout.

So you only need to use the layout button when you want 2 or 3 columns.
