Jira Mac/iOS App Changing Assignee Problem

Hello everyone,

I can change the assigned person in all projects in the web app, but I cannot make this change in mac and ios app. I talked to the administrator but he could not find such a setting in the admin panel. However, whenever I want to change the assigned person in apps, it tells me to contact the admin.

What is the source of the problem? How can we solve it?

Hi @Hannah McKenzie can we please get an update on this? 

this is also affecting many of my colleagues as they frequently use their Jira apps to collaborate on tickets. Both device and app are latest versions

Hi @Gani Can Somuncu, sorry to hear of your frustration. Which version of the apps are you running? Could you please add a screenshot of the assignee field that you're unable to edit so I can gain further context?

I believe I've found the solution:

In order to edit the assignee field on mobile, your project's admin needs to ensure that the 'assignee' field is added to the edit screen configuration (via Settings on web) as described here. (My rough summary: Settings > Issues > Screens > Configure > Add field.)

Please let me know if this doesn't solve the problem for you, or if you have any further questions. (Web works a little differently to mobile in this scenario, due to differing endpoints and available data.)

Hi, this isn’t a solution for us who have the same issue. All the settings you’ve mentioned are present and correct.

surely there needs to be some bug to fix in the iOS app and also the web view, as the assigned cannot be changed in the list view either anymore, only when editing a single issue.

how can I report this as a new bug?

@leecollings are you saying that the assignee field is in the edit screen for your project but still not editable on mobile?
