Is there a cloud add-on that allows external links to be opened in a new window?

So far I've only found a resolution for Confluence Server. Having trouble finding a resolution for Confluence Cloud service. We find that this is a better default for users instead of them having to right-click the link in order to access in a new window.

Hey there @jpbouvier!

Having links on new tabs or windows can be really helpful when we need to keep track of multiple points at the same time.

Currently, this setting is not present in Confluence Cloud and has been ruled out by Atlassian some time ago. You can check the Suggestion here:

CONFCLOUD-11194 - Open links in new window

Other than right clicking the link, users can also use CMD+Left Click (macOS)/CTRL+Left Click (Windows) to open links in another tab.

However, if you need the decision of opening the link in a new tab or page to be made by the page author, you can use third-party apps to achieve this result. Apps such as this one can help you:

Linking for Confluence

I was not able to find more apps in our marketplace that fit your needs and are also available for Confluence Cloud.

Let us hear from you!
