Is the editing error impacting images in tables as well...or totally different issue??

Andy - Urban Gorilla Boy January 12, 2022

I just had the following issue:

  • Made a table, filled it with a variety of images (1 per cell), and published it
  • Went back in 2 or 3 times to update empty cells with new images (again, 1 per cell) and published...
  • Suddenly, all image in columns 2-4 are CLONING what is in Column 1 for that row.... (???)

Checked STATUS PAGE and wondering if this is related to editing, although that is only about text.

Anyone else experience the same...??

On behalf of the living-legend that is @Shannon S 🤩🌟🎖...

If they all have the same file name they'll overwrite each other

https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/CONFCLOUD-42945

Similar cases open for this:
  1. CONFCLOUD-69357 Files with the same name uploaded into Confluence pages, causes it to be replaced
  2. CONFCLOUD-30312 different images with the same name overwrite each other (Closed, but there are still comments on it from customers in 2021).
  3. CONFCLOUD-68756 When a different image is uploaded to a page with same filename, the previous file is overwritten
  4. CONFCLOUD-68430 Confluence Questions: Uploaded images in the same answer thread overrides previous one
And a related request for a warning:
  • CONFCLOUD-70518 A warning should pop up before replacing the previous attachment with the same name

68756 and 30312 closed as a duplicate.
This case, 42945, is older and has more votes, but 69357 was created recently for the new editor, so both open for now
It's definitely a problem because you can add multiple attachments to a page in edit mode and you receive no warning about the filename. See notes here: (focused comment on CONFCLOUD-69357)
