Hello,
We are in the process of implementing confluence at our company. I have not yet found a solution to the following problem.
We would like to establish a process via the template function, in which ticket solutions and how to's are documented according to a certain scheme.
Included should be:
Component -> Works well via the variable field.
Version -> Also via the variable field.
Created on -> We would like to automatically set the current date here. Is there a possibility in the Confluence standard or do we have to solve this by programming?
Last modified -> Here we would like to automatically enter the date of the last modification.
Status -> Here we are still looking for a suitable workflow that can be cleanly integrated into the template.
Article number -> Here we take the confluence number from the URL. Is there a possibility in the standard or do we have to program a macro for this?
Thanks in advance for the support.
Christoph
Hello Christoph,
Welcome to Atlassian Community! It's nice to have you join us.
Unfortunately, templates can't access these common Confluence variables, such as created, last modified, and page ID numbers. However, we have a feature request below, which you can watch if you want to stay informed on its status.
Status -> Here we are still looking for a suitable workflow that can be cleanly integrated into the template.
With the current template editor, you can either add this as a variable or include the Status Macro on the template with some instructional text about the intended use of the macro.
I understand you likely want it more automated than that, in which case I would recommend looking at the templating add-ons on Marketplace, or your team can develop something.
I hope that helps, but let me know if you have any questions.
Take care,
Shannon
