Is it possible to see if a page was copied in Confluence?

Deleted user July 20, 2017

In a specifc usecase it would be helpful for us to know, if a page was created or if a page was only copied.

Is it possible to get this information out of the page informations or anywhere else?

Thank you for your answers!

Christoph

Unfortunately, I don't think so. When you choose copy, it just copies the storage format of the original page into a new page, and I don't think Confluence stores any record of it having been copied.

I can confirm that, the code for copy is "create new page, copy content untouched"

Too bad it is not recorded. Maybe we can find another solution.

Maybe you can also answers this question: Does "content" include labels?

Yes, I just did a test, and the copy process duplicates the labels and also seems to make a copy of all attachments.

While I don't think there is any definitive record, one bit of evidence that a page was copied is if the v1 has a large amount of content, or all the content.

In the natural course of working with a page, it's highly unlikely someone would publish all their changes in one big update.
