Is it possible to migrate spaces from Confluence OnDemand to Confluence installed on site using XML export/import?

Shira Bezalel August 23, 2013

We would like to migrate a few spaces from 5.2 OD to a local Confluence installation. Is it possible to do that with the XML export/import functionality? Or do we have to use the method described on this page to move the entire site?

https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/DOC/Migrating+from+Confluence+OnDemand+to+a+Confluence+Installed+Site

We would rather only move a few select spaces and are hoping we can move them using the XML export/import method. Thanks!

Yea, that is jsut fine. Just make sure you are running the very latest version of the Confluence OD distribution as in the article you cited.

Maybe one gotcha. Your users are not going to be migrated and will have to be recreated.

I don't think there is an easy way to automate this last bit.

We'll give it a try, then. Thanks!

Hello there,

You should be able to do it using the steps outlined on the following document: https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/DOC/Restoring+a+Space

Hope it helps!

Regards,
Marlon
