Is it possible to limit space admin permissions to look and feel?

Ideally I'd like to to limit space admin permissions to look and feel so header updates can be given to support to look after but if this isn't possible is there a level of permission to limit them so they are unable to delete the space?

No, space admin permission is not that granular so you can not remove the permission to delete the space. Atlassian does have a new granular admin role on their roadmap, hopefully that will also include space admins.
