I have installed Confluence on Kubernetes with a helm chart in which synchrony fails to work. This is an excerpt from atlassian-synchrony.log:
2020-08-31 16:15:28,254 DEBUG [487:StdErrHandler [/opt/java/openjdk/bin/java]] Invalid maximum heap size: -Xmx0m
2020-08-31 16:15:28,268 DEBUG [487:StdErrHandler [/opt/java/openjdk/bin/java]] Error: Could not create the Java Virtual Machine.
2020-08-31 16:15:28,268 DEBUG [487:StdErrHandler [/opt/java/openjdk/bin/java]] Error: A fatal exception has occurred. Program will exit.
2020-08-31 16:15:28,249 DEBUG [487:StdErrHandler [/opt/java/openjdk/bin/java]] NOTE: Picked up JDK_JAVA_OPTIONS: --add-opens=java.base/java.lang=ALL-UNNAMED --add-opens=java.base/java.io=ALL-UNNAMED --add-opens=java.rmi/sun.rmi.transport=ALL-UNNAMED
How can I fix it?
This suggests that an admin has made a mistake in the config for Synchrony, probably while trying to increase the memory for it.
There's several ways to configure Synchrony and no easy way to tell which one you are using, so please have a look through https://confluence.atlassian.com/doc/configuring-synchrony-858772125.html to see if you can work out which one it is and hence where the settings are for the memory size.
