Installing Confluence with Xampp MySql-Database

Hey everyone,

I wanted to ask, if it is possible to connect the mySql database of xampp with confluence at the setup. If yes what path or what source do i have to state?

This might be a silly question but im not in to mySql/ im starting to work on it.

greetings David

Hey David,

This is definitely possible as XAMPP is just a bundle of Apache (+PHP) MySQL and other tools. If my memory is correct, you have a root and a non-root account for XAMPP MySQL. Create a new database with the root user and be sure that the non-root user has the necesarry rights to interact with the new database. From thereon out, follow the instructions from the documentation on setting up Confluence: Database setup for MySQL.

Good luck!
