This is a bit tricky, we split from a company with a Server instance and created our own Cloud instance. Our emails changed, so the Migration tools couldn't be used, so we used export/import for each space. One team needed to continue updating pages in a particular Space, shared with several other teams. We did the export/import several weeks ago, thinking we could Export just that team's pages later. So now ALL the teams using both the Old Space and the new space have done several weeks of work in their respective spaces.
We now find that despite Exporting a subset of the Space, we cannot Import just that subset of pages, as it appears that even the subset uses the Space Key, so the import fails because the Space Key already exists.
So now I can't delete the new Space and import everything due to all the new work done in the new Space, my team would bring out the pitchforks and torches, and we can't lose all the work done in the old space (see pitchforks and torches).
Cunning ideas anyone?
If I create a NEW space in the old Server instance, and I MOVE the pages from the old to the new space in the old instance, will I get a new Space Key that will not conflict, or will the old Space Key be used in the new space when I move the pages? This is suboptimal as I will need cycles from teh old company to create teh new space and that is tricky given the split but seems most likely to work.
Thanks for reading through and any ideas.
Hi @Neil Woodgate ,
welcome to the Atlassian community!
In my opinion you have different approaches.
Hope this helps,
Fabio
Hi @Neil Woodgate welcome to the Atlassian Community!
Your own suggestion is the correct one and will be the best option.
Just choose a Space Key that won't conflict in the old and new instance.
You can move the pages from the imported space to the correct space afterwards.
