Import complex word document

Hi Folks,

i just have some issues importing complex word documtens and thought I'd share that. Maybe you got a trick.

For your reference :

  1. Chapters with identical names in one document are not renamed, but overwritten (Last wins)
  2. Paragraphs are imported as \\ linebreaks ! (see : https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/OFFCONN-17?focusedCommentId=301739#comment-301739 ) Any workaround available ?
  3. word grafiphs, metafile graphics etc are crippled, when scaled. Often becoming useless in the process. Pasting as PNG images helps a little bit. (JIRA)

There are some other bugs, check the JIRA list for it :

Hi,

You can automatically rename the new pages, if another page with the same name already exists.

We have to work over the imported Word Documents, Doc import is not perfect, but you don't have to type the whole text again.

Best regards

Thomas

Hi Thomas, the rename only works with pages, already in the wiki before importing th eword file. it does not work with identical word-titles. If you have two chapters 1.1 and 2.1, both with title "Management summary", the first is overwritten by the content of "2.1."

Regards, Josh
